Easy ways to cheer up during bad times

No matter how positive or upbeat you are, at one point the “Blues” will hit.  Whether it’s been a week or a month, these tips will help you get back on your feet.  Here are some easy and fun ways to get your life back on track during some bad times.

First, I need you to Take a Breathe.  Allow yourself time to hideaway and veg out.  Because sometimes to beat the blues, you need to let them in.

Go take a bath.  Listen to sad music, watch something that will make you cry.  Make sure not to hold in the sadness, it will be even harder to release it.  And when that is all done Take a nap. And don’t feel guilty.

Now that you let the blues in, you need to regroup.  Start by  Making a plan, scheduling can really help give you a sense of purpose.

Sometimes this means make a change, I buy new pillows.  But if you don’t want to buy anything, just move your furniture around.  Go make yourself get out and do something, even if it is just running an errand.

When you get back keep doing something; Cook yourself a healthy meal or Clean up!  Putting everything back in it’s place will help you gain control in your life.  Next Go learn something.  Take up a new instrument.

Try a DIY project.  I have even relearned state and national capitols.

Try to Reconnect.  Go have coffee or lunch with an old friend.  Call your best friend or your mama.  Write a letter to someone that keeps coming to mind.   Go and make a new friend…Putting yourself out there will force you to get it together.

Find someone to serve or help.  Sometimes we can’t do it for ourselves, so we have to do it for others.  Say yes to social events, even if you don’t want to
